March Mayhem

If any of my readers were following March Mayhem you would know about all the big upsets this year. First, I’m going to say thank goodness Zynga did NOT move past the first round, even though it messed up my bracket I’m at peace with this. I did realize once the voting started I should have had BioWare beating Bungie because of Dragon Age 2. I also didn’t have Bethsada moving past the second round which was another mistake. Silly mistakes on my part, sorry! However! I did call Mojang the creators of Minecraft to win the whole thing. The toughest round for Mojang in my opinion was the first round against the number one seed, Nintendo. Nintendo fanboys were highly upset about the upset beating however, you have to take your heart out of the competition and think logically.
Let’s be honest, Nintendo doesn’t have the online multiplayer ability that Xbox 360 Live supports or the Playstation Network. Nintendo produces classic games and has done a great job of making them modern, however, Minecraft is a creative, out of the box (no pun intended) game that Mojang has had great success with. The second toughest round for Mojang was against Valve, another first seed. I’m a Valve fangirl all the way and am happy for Valve and their achievements; however, I believe Mojang has the fan base and deserved to win. The third and final round toughest round was against another first seed, BioWare. Although the voting wasn’t as close and the others, this was the final round and people were on the edge of their seats awaiting the official results. I know a lot of BioWare fanboys that supported Mojang the whole way. So I’m not surprised that BioWare didn’t have a lot of votes. Also, I heard that Dragon Age 2 wasn’t what the fanboys ordered so to BioWare’s demise the fanboys rooting for the most amazing game out there! I have to be a little honest, I was a little surprised Mojang actually won. They absolutely deserved it but usually when it comes to the fan based voting competitions Indie games are usually the ones that don’t get recongnied. This was truly a Cinderella story for Mojang and it’s a great accomplishment for them.
